On 10-13-12, at approximately 1000 hrs., Frederick Police Officers arrested three adults for various charges ranging from theft and drug charges to Driving While Impaired charges after investigating an accident in the 600 block of E. Patrick St.
On 10-13-12, at apprximately 1000 hours, officers with the Frederick Police Department's Patrol Division and Directed Patrol Unit responded to a report of an accident in the area of the 600 block of E. Patrick St. As officers were responding, they were informed that the accident may be related to a theft from a motor vehicle that had just occurred at the E. Patrick St. McDonalds.
When Officers arrived, they found two vehicles to the rear of an apartment building in the 600 block of E. Patrick St. Officer Stephen Radke's investigation revealed that one of the occupants of one of the vehicles (Ms. Trail) had just stolen a cell phone from the second car while at the McDonalds. Ms. Trail drove her vehilce from the McDonalds as the owner of the cell phone, who observed the theft, followed her in his vehicle to the 600 block of E. Patrick St. An occupant in the theft victim's car was on the phone with police as the victim followed Ms. Trail's vehicle. Ms. Trail's vehicle pulled into a small parking lot to the rear of an apartment building, the victim followed.
It was determined that just prior to Ms. Trail's vehicle striking the victim's vehicle in this parking lot, a male occupant of Ms. Trail's vehicle, Mr. Kroh, had switched seats with Trail, and Kroh attempted to elude the victim who parked his vehicle as Kroh attempted to do a U-Turn, but was unable to control his vehicle and he collided with the front of the victim's vehicle.
It was determined that both Trail and Kroh were extremely intoxicated and both were charged with DUI. A female passenger of Trail's vehicle was also found to be in possession of Heroin and drug paraphernalia. Ms. Trail was also found in possession of Heroin and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Kroh was not in possession of any drugs, but in addition to his DUI charges, his license to drive was found to be suspended. The victim's stolen phone was recovered from Ms. Trail.
The collision was very minor and there were no injuries resulting from the accident.
