On This date members of the Frederick Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit were alerted to a suspicious vehicle in the area of Magnolia Ave. Officers observed a motor vehicle violation and a traffic stop was initiated. Officers spoke to the driver who was identified as Tamir Matthews. A police K-9 was summoned to the scene to perform a sniff of the vehicle. The police K-9 positively alerted to the presence of CDS emanating from the vehicle. Matthews was placed under arrest. During a search of Matthews at FPD Headquarters officers located a large quantity of crack cocaine and marijuana.
Matthews was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
