In an effort to ensure the safety, health and welfare our community, the Frederick Police Department has joined with the Frederick County Liquor Board and the Frederick County Fire Marshal’s Office and will be conducting compliance checks tonight, Wednesday, November 23, 2011, on alcohol licensed businesses within the city.
Traditionally, the eve of Thanksgiving is one of the busiest nights of the year for bars and restaurants. FPD and our partners want to ensure a safe and happy holiday for everyone in Frederick. Representatives from the partner agencies will be visiting alcohol licensed establishments throughout the city to ensure compliance with all laws, and safety and alcohol regulations.
Our proactive approach includes efforts at educating the public and apprising our citizens and business owners ahead of time to improve voluntary compliance. Enlightened communication with our citizens is one of the best ways to improve safety and the quality of life in our City.
We urge all businesses to adhere to alcohol license regulations and fire safety and occupancy codes and we encourage all patrons to drink responsibly and to never drink and drive.
