On 09-09-12 at approximately 0711 hrs. Officers of the Frederick Police Departments Patrol Division responded to a reported stabbing at the Motel 6, 999 W. Patrick Street. Upon arrival a male victim was found inside one of the rooms suffering from a stab wound to his upper left chest area. A female associate, also in the room, advised she and the male had been arguing during the previous evening. The male had also been drinking heavily. At one point this morning the male came from the bathroom area of the room and took a knife and stabbed himself once in the chest. The female was able to obtain the knife and keep it away from the male, she then called the police. The female also related the male was depressed over the recent loss of a close relative and believed this was the motivation for the incident.
The victim was treated at the scene by EMS and flown to Shock Trauma via MSP Helicopter for further treatment. At the time of this press release the victim is listed in critical condition at R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
The male victim is 21 YOA, the female is 17 YOA. No further information is being released at this time.
