[ARCHIVED] City Government Offices Closed For Thanksgiving Clarification of Trash / Yard Waste Collection

As a reminder, The City of Frederick Government Offices will be closed on Thursday, November 24th and Friday, November 25th in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Offices will reopen at regularly scheduled times on Monday, November 28, 2010.

City Government Offices Closed For Thanksgiving
Clarification of Trash / Yard Waste Collection

Frederick, MD -- As a reminder, The City of Frederick Government Offices will be closed on Thursday, November 24th and Friday, November 25th in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Offices will reopen at regularly scheduled times on Monday, November 28, 2010.

Clarification to the schedule is as follows:
• The Frederick Community Action Agency (FCAA) Soup Kitchen will be open on Thursday, November 24th and Friday, November 25th serving free evening meals from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. All other services will re-open on Monday, November 28th
• The Food Bank will be closed Thursday, November 24th and Friday, November 25th
• All City parking decks will be open for free parking from Thursday, November 24th, Thanksgiving Day thru Sunday evening, November 27th. The parking decks will resume normal operations at 6:00AM on Monday morning, November 28th.
Parking meters are also free during this time.

• The Wm. Talley Fitness Center:
o Wednesday, November 23rd - Close at 9:00 PM
o Thursday, November 24th - Closed
o Friday November 25th - Open at 8:00 AM.

Trash/Yard Waste Collection Services
There will be NO trash collection service on Thursday, November 24th in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. This notice applies to residents that normally set out their trash on Wednesday evening for Thursday morning collection. These residents are asked to hold their trash until the next regularly scheduled trash collection day.

There will be NO trash collection on Friday, November 25th. This notice applies to residents that normally set out their trash on Thursday evening for Friday morning collection except in the following areas, which will have trash collection on Friday, November 25th.

The following four areas will have trash collection on Friday, November 25th:
o Downtown Business Commercial District
o Whittier
o Rocky Pointe
o Walnut Ridge


In addition, yard waste collection for the NAC 11 and 12 areas that would normally occur on Thursday, November 24th will not be collected until Thursday, December 8th.
