City Announces Survey on Fair Housing Choice
Frederick, MD –The City of Frederick Planning Department has prepared a survey to gauge the level of housing choice in the City. The survey will help The City of Frederick prepare a new Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice, last updated in 1996. This document is required by the Department of Housing and Urban Development as part of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Consolidated Plan 2010-2015 in order to retain federal funding for fair housing planning.
Separate surveys have been prepared for both housing professionals (i.e. real estate agents, lenders, property managers, etc.) and the public in general. The last Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice identified seven (7) obstacles to fair housing choice. Results of the current survey will be used to gauge progress in overcoming those impediments and identifying any new limits on fair housing choice that may exist.
The link to the survey can be found on The City of Frederick’s webpage at www.cityoffrederick.com on the left side of the homepage under “Topics of Interest” and will be available for completion until September 21, 2012. Please select the appropriate survey depending upon whether you are a housing professional or a community member.
