After being pulled over for failing to stop at stop sign, a driver attempted to flee scene on foot, but was apprehended a short time later.
On 08/17/2012 at approximately 2:02AM, Officer Tony Lawson of the Frederick Police Department attempted to pull over a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign at West 2nd Street and West College Terrace. After contacting the driver, identified as Michael Angelo Jones, Officer Lawson checked Jones’ driving status through his computer. While entering the information into the computer, Jones exited his vehicle and fled on foot. Officer Lawson gave chase and eventually located Jones in a backyard in the 300 block of West College Terrace. The suspect and officer were not injured as a result of the foot chase.
The suspect full identification and charges are as follows:
-Jones, Michael Angelo (B/M, 11-26-1966)
1000 block of Carlton Place
1) Fleeing and Eluding
2) Driving on a suspended license
3) Driving on a revoked license
4) Driving vehicle wrong way on one way street
5) Driver fail to stop at stop sign
