The Frederick Police Departments Criminal Investigation Division charged Thomas James Hamm of Frederick Maryland with attempted 2nd degree murder, and other criminal offenses in the shooting that occurred on August 8th, 2012 at approximately 11pm.
On August 8th, 2012 Frederick Police patrol units were called to the area of the 1100 block of Key Parkway for a shots fired call. Upon there arrival they discovered that a man had been shot in the arm. After a preliminary investigation was conducted, the police department was able to establish that Mr. Hamm was responsible for the shooting. Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division located Mr. Hamm in the 100 block of West Patrick Street and took him into custody without incident. Mr. Hamm was transported to central booking for processing where he will be charged as an adult.
The victim in this incident was taken to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, where he was treated and released. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information is asked to call Detective Petruzzello at 301-600-4110 or the anonymous tip line at 301-600-8477 (TIPS) .
