On Thursday, March 30, 2023, at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers from The Frederick Police Department were dispatched to Frederick High School for a report of a fight that took place off school property.
Upon arrival, officers located a FCPS student suffering from injuries sustained from a knife. Based on the initial investigation, a student involved in a fight came onto the FHS campus from Baker Park. The injured student was taken to the school health room where they received treatment from health room staff until EMS arrived on the scene. FHS administration were alerted about the incident from a staff member and promptly responded to scene. A collaborated effort was initiated with the Frederick Police Department and The Frederick County Sheriff's Office
There was an increased police presence in the areas of Frederick High, West Frederick Middle, and Parkway Elementary during afternoon dismissal, which took place on time. Detectives with The Frederick Police Department have determined this was an isolated incident. As a result, all evening activities will continue as planned on school campuses this evening.
