The Frederick Police Department is investigating a shots fired incident that resulted in one residence being struck.
At approximately 5:15 p.m., FPD received a call for a group of males in the area of Hillcrest Elementary School acting suspiciously, and who may be armed. As patrol officers responded, FPD received additional reports saying the group was chasing a subject and shots had been fired.
As officers arrived to the scene, they canvassed the area for a victim or suspects. Additional units arrived on scene, including a K9 officer and the Major Crimes Unit but could not locate suspects or a victim. Investigators recovered two shell casings and located a residence that had been struck by a bullet.
