(Updates Release 07/12/2012)
On 07/09/2012 at approximately 2343 hours the Frederick Police Department responded to a report of shots being fired in the area of Hope Circle. Officers on scene were able to determine that a firearm had been discharged in the area. The investigation revealed that the suspect and victim were known to one another and were playing basketball in the Hope Circle area prior to the shots being fired.
Det. Garcia was assigned as the lead investigator in the case and identified Derrick Goines as the suspect discharging the firearm. Det. Garcia applied for charges against Goines and an arrest warrant was issued.
On 07/12/2012 Detectives with the Frederick Police Department located Derrick Goines in the 100 block of West Patrick Street. Goines was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.

Numerous Officers responded to the 200BLK of Hope Circle for reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, Officers confirmed that shots had been fired and the incident is still actively being investigated. Noone was injured in the incident.
