With the assistance of several partnering agencies, the Frederick Police Department has apprehended and charged a man wanted in a March stabbing in the City of Frederick.
At approximately 8:45 a.m. on Friday, March 25, the Frederick Police Department received a 911 call in the 1100 Block of Providence Court. Patrol officers located an adult female who had been stabbed in the torso.
Through evidence and information obtained, detectives positively identified the suspect as Osmin Eliseo Lopez Torres (DOB 1/12/2001). Detectives determined Lopez Torres and the victim knew each other and this was not a random incident. Lopez Torres was charged with First-degree attempted murder and associated charges and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On May 27, 2022, Lopez Torres was located and arrested without incident in Salinas, California. This was a coordinated effort between detectives of the Frederick Police Department, United States Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, United States Marshals Service Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, Monterey County Sheriff’s Office and the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office.
