Last week, officers from the Frederick Police Department responded to the 400 Block of Harlan Way for a report of a subject attempting to gain entry into vehicles in the neighborhood.
Upon arriving to the scene, a complainant positively identified Antonio Gutierrez, (30, Gaithersburg, Md.) as the suspect. During the investigation, officers determined Gutierrez had two warrants for his arrest. Officers were quickly able to apprehend Gutierrez without incident and transported him to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. OFC Davies served the arrest warrants and charged Gutierrez with two counts of rogue and vagabond, which applies when a person is in or on another person's vehicle with the intent to commit theft.
The Frederick Police Department takes all reports of theft from a motor vehicle or tampering with a motor vehicle seriously. We encourage all members of the public to report any suspicious behavior in their communities to the FPD non-emergency line at 301-600-2102. We also encourage residents take steps to protect their property by locking their doors and making sure no valuables are stored in their vehicles.
