FPD makes two illegal firearms possession arrests in Heather Ridge Drive area

FPD has served five arrest warrants, charged 4 individuals for offenses related to controlled dangerous substances and arrested a man on criminal and traffic charges who attempted flee from police following a traffic stop.

Since March 1, the Frederick Police Department has increased its presence and enforcement efforts in the Heather Ridge Drive area in response to reports of multiple firearm discharges in the area dating back to the beginning of the year.  

 

During this time officers have made two arrests for subjects illegally possessing firearms that have resulted in the seizure of two handguns including a Polymer 80 -- commonly referred to as “ghost gun”.  In addition to these arrests, members of the Tactical Investigations Unit collectively have served 5 arrest warrants, charged 4 individuals for offenses related to controlled dangerous substances and arrested a man on criminal and traffic charges who attempted flee from police following a traffic stop.  

 

The Frederick Police Department will continue to conduct these proactive operations and will work closely with our law enforcement partners to help keep our community safe. Firearm Offenders Charged:

Haqii Stancil

DOB: 09-21-1990

Charges:

  • 1 1285: Possession ammunition, being prohibited from possessing a firearm
  • 1 0175: Handgun in vehicle
  • 1 1106: Possession of firearm after being convicted of a disqualifying crime

Markus Marvine

DOB: 06-19-1999

Charges:

  • 1 0487: Transporting firearm while engaged in drug trafficking
  • 1 0493: Possession of firearm in relation to drug trafficking
  • 1 5212: Handgun on person
  • 1 1455: Loaded handgun on person
  • 1 1454: Loaded handgun in vehicle
  • 1 0175: Handgun in vehicle
  • Possession marijuana
  • Possession with the intent to distribute marijuana

This operation was a coordinated effort between the Frederick Police Department and Frederick County Sheriffs Office under the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN).  The Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention, Youth, and Victim Services (GOCPYVS) provides grant funding and strategic support to MCIN member sites to identify, disrupt, and dismantle criminal organizations through inter-agency collaboration and data sharing to make Maryland safer.
