On Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022, at approximately 11:50 p.m. investigators at The Frederick Police Department learned of a stabbing that occurred after a fight broke out between a group of friends at a business establishment in the 200 Block of Shorebird Street.
The incident resulted in one stabbing victim, who drove himself to a local hospital and was later transported to an area trauma center due to his injuries. He is in stable condition.
A short time later, officers took a suspect into custody for questioning. However, due to uncooperative parties involved in the investigation, including the victim, the suspect was later released.
FPD would like to reiterate this was an isolated incident among known parties. This remains an active and ongoing case and FPD will continue to investigate to determine what, if any, charges are appropriate.
