On October 04, 2021, at 8:48 PM, the Frederick Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the 2100 Block of Old Farm Drive in reference to a discharge of a firearm.
The officers and detectives on scene located evidence of gunfire and spoke with several witnesses who observed portions of the encounter. While the initial investigation occurred, officers were notified of an adult male at an area hospital with a gunshot wound. Investigators determined the male was at the initial scene with several associates where the discharge was reported and was involved in that encounter. The victim was transported to an area trauma center where he is in critical condition.
Two of the adult males associated with the victim were located and arrested for their involvement in this crime. Those persons were identified as follows:
Charged:
- Shane Lee Williams (DOB 04-17-2000) of Painter, Va.
- Richard Bowdoin Arvidson (DOB 10-24-2000) of Bell Haven, Va.
Charges:
- Shane Williams was charged with Possession of a Handgun, Reckless Endangerment and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
- Richard Arvidson was charged with Possession of an Assault Weapon & Possession of a Loaded Handgun in a Vehicle.
At this time, it is believed this was an incident between known associates. However, no additional information is being released at this time as detectives work to identify other persons involved in this crime.
