The City of Frederick will join communities across the nation in a "National Moment of Unity and Remembrance" to honor those who have lost their lives to COVID-19 on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. City Hall will be illuminated in the color amber, and City Carillonneur, John Widmann, will perform a short concert at 5:30 PM at the Joseph Dill Baker Memorial Carillon.
"COVID-19 has impacted everyone in our community. As we continue our efforts to reduce the spread and distribute vaccines, it is important to honor those who have died during this pandemic. The past ten months have been devastating in various ways, but we must renew our commitment to our community's health to ensure we can beat this virus," shared Mayor O'Connor.
If visiting Baker Park for the brief concert, please wear a face covering and practice physical distancing while using sidewalks, trails, and park spaces.
