On todays date, the Frederick Police Deparment arrested a subject whom stole an expiration sticker from a local business license plate.
On 06/15/2012 at approximately 2:02 AM, Ofc. Jansson of the Frederick Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a white Ford Explorer in the 1000 block of North Market Street for failing to signal when changing lanes. As Ofc. Jansson conducted a routine check on the driver as well as the vehicle. She learned the expiration sticker on the vehicle did not match what the MVA records showed. Further searching revealed the expiration tab was stolen from March 2012 from another vehicle in Frederick. Ofc. Jansson then re-contacted the driver and explained the situation to him. The driver, identified as Jowaun Ford of Bristol Drive did not dispute the claim. He was arrested a short time later.
The criminal and motor vehicle charges are as follows:
-Ford, Jowaun Michael (B/M) (DOB 03/30/1988)
-2000 block of Bristol Drive, Frederick MD
1) Falsifying/Attempt to falsify with fraudulent intent official document
2) Knowingly using falsified vehicle registration plate
3) Theft under $1,000.
4) Several payable motor vehicle citations
