[ARCHIVED] Arrest Made in July 2020 Shooting

Frederick, MD - On November 02, 2020, the arrest warrant was served on Nathaniel Julius after Mr. Julius turned himself in to authorities.  Mr. Julius is currently being held without bond at the Frederick County Detention Center.

UPDATE:

FREDERICK, MD – At about 6:21 p.m. on July 16, 2020, officers of the Frederick Police Department (FPD) responded to the 100 block of Key Parkway for the report of a shooting.  Officers located an adult male with several life-threatening gunshot wounds to his upper body.   EMS personnel provided initial care, and transported the victim via Maryland State Police helicopter to an area trauma center for further treatment. The victim survived the injuries.  

Detective Doug Ames has continued investigating the incident.  After conducting multiple follow-up interviews and ensuring proper analysis of the evidence, he has applied for criminal charges against Nathaniel Armanian Julius, 22, of Frederick, Maryland.  Please see the attached photo.

On October 8, 2020, a District Court Commissioner issued an arrest warrant for Mr. Julius.  Mr. Julius is wanted for:

  • Assault – First Degree;
  • Reckless Endangerment.

Detectives believe Mr. Julius fled the Frederick area after the shooting.  We are asking anyone with information about Mr. Julius’ whereabouts to contact us 24/7 at 301-600-2102.  Those who wish to remain anonymous can contact the department’s tip lines:

Frederick Police Investigate Shooting

FREDERICK, MD – At about 6:21 p.m. on July 16, 2020, officers of the Frederick Police Department responded to the 100 block of Key Parkway for the report of a shooting.  Officers located an adult male with several gunshot wounds to his upper body.  EMS personnel provided initial care, and transported the victim via Maryland State Police helicopter to an area trauma center for further treatment.  The victim is currently in stable condition.

Detectives interviewed potential witnesses, and canvassed the area for other potential witnesses or evidence.  Crime scene technicians processed the scene and collected potential evidence.  Based on preliminary information, this incident does not appear to be a random crime.   Detectives are working to identify a suspect, who is described as an adult, black male.  The investigation is ongoing, and FPD may release more details as they become available.
