FREDERICK, MD – At 11:15 a.m. on October 4, 2020, a City of Frederick resident contacted the Frederick Police Department (FPD) about a threatening letter she had received. The resident reported that an unidentified male placed the letter on her house overnight on October 4, at about 4:25 a.m. The resident’s doorbell camera recorded the male on the porch. The threatening letter was political in nature. In addition to being threatening toward the resident, it referred to several political figures in the U.S. government. As part of FPD’s standard procedure, we notified the United States Secret Service (USSS). FPD and the USSS continue to investigate.
