Detectives with the Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit located Duane David Mason in a vehicle in the 100 block of South Market Street. Detectives recognized him and knew that he had two active arrest warrants.
On 09-30-2020, at approximately 7:43 pm, members of the Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit located Duane David Mason (DOB 01-17-74) in a vehicle in the 100 block of South Market Street. Detectives recognized him and knew that he had two active arrest warrants. One of the warrants was through the US Marshalls Office for violating probation for Human Trafficking of Minors and the other was from the Frederick County Sheriffs Office for failing to appear in court on a trespassing case.
As detectives moved in to arrest Mason, he attempted to flee by putting his car into reverse and backing down South Market Street, however detectives were able to quickly surround Mason and take him into custody. After arresting Mason, detectives located quantities of Heroin and Crack Cocaine packaged for street level distribution inside of Mason’s car.
Mason was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for processing. He was served with his arrest warrants and detectives will be charging him with possession with the intent to distribute Heroin and Crack Cocaine.
