Summary of Public Meeting Decisions - 09/03/2020

At the September 3, 2020 Mayor and Board of Aldermen Public Meeting, the Board approved the following items:

  • An agreement with Downtown Frederick Partnership for the donation of public art to be installed at Carroll Creek Linear Park. Downtown Frederick Partnership has contracted with local artist Thomas Sterner for an art/wayfinding project. The finished piece will be installed at the entrance to the park. The City, through this agreement, accepts the donation of the piece. There is no fiscal impact to the City.
  • A memorandum of understanding with the Fraternal Order of Police regarding alternative work arrangements. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, many City employees have been utilizing telework options, which were formalized by a resolution of the Board of Aldermen in July.  As sworn police officers work under a collective bargaining agreement, the provisions of that resolution do not apply to them. This MOU extends telework opportunities to sworn officers for the duration of the pandemic state of emergency.

More information on all agenda items can be found on the City website under Public Meetings/Mayor and Board of Aldermen.
