The City’s Department of Housing and Human Services is pleased to recognize its Community Action Health Center for its Health Center Quality Leader Award from The United States Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The Health Center was named a 2020 Quality Improvement Awards (QIA) Gold Tier recipient. Health Centers in the Gold Tier represent the top ten percent of all health centers for clinical quality measures.
Each year, the HRSA provides the QIAs to recognize the highest performing health centers nationwide, as well as those health centers that have made significant quality improvement gains from the previous year. The awards commend health centers on achievements in improving cost-efficient care delivery while also increasing quality of care, reducing health disparities, increasing patients’ ability to access comprehensive services, and advancing the use of health information technology.
“At the Community Action Health Center, we pride ourselves on serving the Frederick community with compassion and high-quality, community-based healthcare. These accomplishments and recognition by HRSA demonstrate how we are delivering on that promise,” shared Acting Director of Housing and Human Services, Janet Jones.
The Award also grants additional funding for the Health Center in the amount of $96,496.00, which will be used to continue its service to the most vulnerable in the Frederick community.
