Frederick Police Investigate Shooting
FREDERICK, MD – At about 6:21 p.m. on July 16, 2020, officers of the Frederick Police Department responded to the 100 block of Key Parkway for the report of a shooting. Officers located an adult male with several gunshot wounds to his upper body. Officers and EMS personnel provided initial care, and transported the victim via Maryland State Police helicopter to an area trauma center for further treatment. The victim is currently in stable condition.
Detectives interviewed potential witnesses, and canvassed the area for other potential witnesses or evidence. Crime scene technicians processed the scene and collected potential evidence. Based on preliminary information, this incident does not appear to be a random crime. Detectives are working to identify a suspect, who is described as an adult, black male who fled the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and FPD may release more details as they become available.
