Frederick Police Investigate Firearms Discharges & Related Destruction of Property
At 6:46 p.m. on June 11, 2020, the Frederick Police Department (FPD) received a call for a report of a firearm discharge in the area of the 1600 block of Shookstown Road. A caller reported hearing several gunshots, and saw a white, four-door sedan speed off. Officers checked the area, but did not locate the suspicious vehicle or evidence of a discharge at that time.
At 10:51 p.m. on June 11, the FPD received a call for report of a firearm discharge in the area of Grant Place and Bolton Street. The caller advised hearing a single gunshot, and observed four individuals flee north on Grant Place. The caller believed the group that had fled consisted of three males and one female. Responding officers located a spent shell casing in the area where the caller had seen the group at the time of the gunshot. An officer collected the casing as evidence.
At 11:34 p.m. on June 11, officers investigated a destruction of property at a residence in the 1000 block of Storrington Drive. The victim told officers that he had located a bullet hole in a second story bedroom. An officer recovered a projectile and submitted it as evidence. A resident told officers he heard a loud bang at approximately 6:30 p.m. Officers canvassed the area for additional evidence.
