UPDATE:
During the initial response to the report of a stabbing in the 100 block of Deerfield Place, police arrested David Frederick Miner IV, 19, of Frederick. As a result of the investigation, and after consultation with the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office, Det. Wolfe charged David Miner IV, with the following criminal offenses:
- Murder – First Degree;
- Murder – Second Degree;
- Assault – First Degree;
- Assault – Second Degree (3 counts);
- Resist/Interfere with Arrest.
Miner IV, is held without bond at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the domestic-related, fatal stabbing.
The victim in this case is Samantha Annette Miner, 45, of Frederick.

Frederick Police Investigate Homicide
FREDERICK, MD – At 6:53 p.m. on April 19, 2020, the Frederick Police Department (FPD) received a call about a stabbing at a residence in the 100 block of Deerfield Place in Frederick. Police Officers and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) arrived and located an adult female suffering from a stab wound. EMTs pronounced the female deceased at the scene.
Officers took an adult male into custody at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and the FPD will not be releasing any names at this time. Police have determined this was an isolated incident, and there is not a threat to the public.
