Frederick Police Make Arrest for Armed Robbery
At 12:23 a.m. on March 25, 2020, the Frederick Police Department received a report of an armed robbery in the 1400 block of Key Parkway. The victim reported that a group of three males approached him as he was sitting in his car. One of the males displayed what appeared to be a knife, opened the door of the car, and started going through the victim’s pocket. The victim was able to drive away and was not injured.
Officer First Class James Clark arrived in the area quickly, and observed a person matching the suspect’s description. The suspect ran, and OFC Clark gave chase. OFC Clark apprehended the suspect after a foot chase and identified him as Hedbby Abbdel Ramirez-Maldonado, 18, of Frederick. As a result of the investigation that followed, OFC Clark charged Ramirez-Maldonado with the following criminal offenses: Robbery, Armed Robbery, and Second Degree Assault. Ramirez-Maldonado is currently held without bond at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
The other two suspects were not located. Marked, uniformed patrol officers as well as plainclothes detectives routinely patrol areas identified as prone to certain crimes, and continue to do so.
