Frederick Police Investigate Convenience Store Robbery and Assault
FREDERICK, MD – At 9:22 p.m. on March 19, 2020, the Frederick Police Department received a call from the Seven Eleven store at 1042 West Patrick Street. An employee reported that a lone suspect came behind the counter with a knife, assaulted him and fled.
Officers arrived and provided basic first aid until EMS arrived. The employee received a laceration and a puncture wound to his left side. EMS transported him to an area hospital for treatment for what appear to be non-life threatening injuries. Crime Scene Technicians processed the scene for evidence. Based on the account of the incident, it appears the motive was robbery.
The suspect is described as an adult, black male, approximately 5-06 to 5-08 tall. The suspect was wearing a mask that partially covered his face. He fled on foot into an adjacent parking lot, where it is believed he left the area in a vehicle. There is no description of the vehicle at this time. Officers are increasing checks of businesses around the City in an effort to deter criminal activity.
