Frederick Police Investigate Armed Robbery
At approximately 6:11 am on February 29, 2020, officers of the Frederick Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery in the area of Willowdale Dr. and Key Parkway. During the course of the investigation, it was determined a male approached the victim, displayed what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money. The suspect then fled on foot in an eastbound direction. No one was injured during this incident, and the suspect was able to get a small amount of U.S. Currency.
Officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect. A short time later, officers received a call about suspicious persons in the area of the 1200 Blk of West Patrick St. Officers located a subject matching the robbery suspect description. After a short foot chase, Officer Grunwell, Officer Herman, and members of MSP were able to apprehend Anthony Denard James, from Hagerstown MD, for armed robbery. It should be noted that the weapon used in the robbery was recovered.
