Tree Frederick Program Now Accepting Orders

The Tree Frederick Program, which began in 2018, is accepting orders for its 2020 program beginning Monday, January 27, 2020.

To increase the tree canopy in The City of Frederick, the Sustainability Department has launched its 2020 Tree Frederick Program. The program offers a 50/50 cost share for trees for City residents. Sales are open January 27, 2020, through February 21, 2020, while funding lasts.

The order form offers 19 varieties of trees. Pick up dates and locations will be announced in the coming weeks pending weather outlooks. Trees will be in containers for pick up to aid in easy transporting and planting.

“Increasing a city’s tree canopy has been shown to improve air quality, enhance wildlife habitat, reduce stormwater runoff, lower crime rates, boost public health and property values, and strengthen communities,” shared City Sustainability Manager, Jenny Willoughby.

The program is open to all City residents.
