Frederick Police Request Public’s Assistance to Help Identify Suspect in Fatal Hit and Run
FREDERICK, MD – On Wednesday, December 18, at approximately 8:45 pm, Mr. Richard Shelton left his apartment on Orchard Terrace and started walking towards rt. 40 to catch a bus to work the overnight shift at the Walmart on Rt. 85
Richard never made it to work - he was found lying on the side of Hillcrest Drive, with obvious signs of trauma. Bystanders who came upon him performed CPR until EMS arrived. Richard was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Upon investigation, it has been determined that this was a hit and run collision and Frederick Police are asking for your help in locating the suspect vehicle. The vehicle in question is a RED or MAROON MINIVAN or SUV and believed to be one of the models below.

- 1997-2000 Pontiac Trans Sport
- 1997-2005 Chevrolet Venture
- 1999-2009 Pontiac Montana
- 2005-2007 Buick Terraza
- 2005-2009 Chevrolet Uplander
