FREDERICK, MD – September 26, 2019:  The Freecycle Roundup, where Frederick City residents may drop off bulk items and reusable goods, will be Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Public Works facility, 111 Airport Drive East.

Notes about Freecycle Roundup:

1.   For Frederick City residents only; proof of residency required

2.   Bulk items only; no bags of trash

3.   No document shredding will be available

4.   What can be dropped off:

§    furniture, appliances – if all refrigerants are removed

§    box springs and mattresses – no more than three of each per household, must sign an affidavit

§    exercise equipment

The City organizes the Freecycle Roundup semiannually to residents so they can dispose of bulk items, and reusable items can be removed from the waste stream.

“This is an important feature of our sustainability initiatives, as we try to reduce the amount of trash and waste that goes into landfills unnecessarily,” said Mayor Michael O’Connor. “I appreciate how committed our community is to making a difference in the environment, and we will continue to offer Freecycle Roundup as one more conservation tool in our toolbox.”
