UPDATE: Arrest Made in Early Morning Shooting That Left Four Injured
An arrest has been made in the early morning shooting that left four people injured. Bryant Helon McMillon, Jr., age 34, of Silver Spring, MD was arrested after officers located an occupied van in a parking lot near the shooting scene, occupied solely by Bryant Helon McMillian. When officers approached the vehicle, a quantity of marijuana was in plain view inside the vehicle. As officers were speaking with McMillan, an officer smelled the odor of phencyclidine (PCP) on McMillan’s person. Officer Durell Deal arrested McMillan. Located inside the van was a loaded handgun. The MD Gun Center database records indicated that McMillian does not have a handgun permit in Maryland, and is also under a prohibited status due to prior felony convictions. Officer Deal charged McMillan with the following criminal offenses:
- · illegal possession of ammunition,
- · illegal possession of a firearm,
- · handgun in vehicle,
- · loaded handgun in vehicle,
- · handgun on person,
- · loaded handgun on person, and
- · resisting arrest.
McMillan is currently incarcerated at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.

Frederick Police Investigate Shots Fired
FREDERICK, MD – At 0137 hours on August 31, 2019, officers of the Frederick Police Department received reports of gunshots fired in the area of the 600 block of North Market Street. Officers arrived in that area, and located an adult, female victim with a gunshot wound. Medical personnel transported her to a hospital in the region for treatment.
Officers learned that three other gunshot victims, two adult males and another adult female, arrived at area hospitals by private transportation or other means. As of this release, all of the victims appear to be in stable condition.
Preliminarily, this incident does not appear to be random, but appears to have stemmed from a dispute. Officers from the Patrol Division and detectives in the Criminal Investigations Section are continuing to investigate.
