FREDERICK POLICE CHARGE LOCAL MAN WITH MULTIPLE CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES
FREDERICK, MD - Detectives from the Frederick Police Department assisted agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) in Binghamton, New York, with an underage sex chat investigation. A male, identified as 40-year-old Andy Shreve of Frederick, Maryland was chatting with an undercover agent who posed as a mother with two daughters. In the chats, Andy Shreve planned to travel from Frederick to Binghamton, NY to have sex with children.
On July 11, 2019, Shreve traveled to Binghamton, NY, where he was arrested by the FBI. Shreve was charged by the FBI in US District Court (New York), with traveling over state lines for sex with minors and child pornography distribution. He is being held without bond at Broome County, NY Detention Center.
After Shreve was arrested in NY, Detectives from the Frederick Police Department, FBI – Violent Crimes Against Children Taskforce and Frederick County Sheriff’s Office served a search & seizure warrant at Shreve’s residence. During the course of the search warrant, Investigators seized the computer and digital devices that were examined by the FBI.
Upon examination of the devices seized from the residence, Shreve was charged in Frederick County, MD, with ten (10) counts of Child Pornography Possession and one (1) count of Child Pornography Distribution.
During the course of the chat investigation in Binghamton, NY, Shreve told the undercover agent that he was sexually active with other children. Detectives are attempting to identify if there are any victims in the Frederick area.
