Frederick Police Asking For Public Assistance Regarding Homicide on June 27, 2019

FREDERICK, MD – The Frederick Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in solving the June 27, 2019 murder of Gregory Allen Bair Knight. On Thursday, June 27, 2019, at approximately 9:39 pm, Mr. Knight was shot and killed as he was sitting in a vehicle with a female passenger. The female passenger suffered from multiple gunshot wounds and survived. We believe that there are people that have information or may have witnessed this crime and are asking that they contact us. FREDERICK POLICE CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE DOUBLE SHOOTING THAT LEFT ONE DEAD:  ASKING FOR PUBLIC'S ASSISTANCE


FREDERICK, MD - Detectives with the Frederick Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Section continue to investigate the murder of Gregory Allen Bair Knight that occurred in the 1000 block of Columbine Drive on June 27, 2019, at approximately 9:39 pm.  We are asking that anyone with information about this crime, to contact Detective Doug Ames at 240-674-6811. 

Additionally, we ask that residents with privately operated video recording systems that face streets and parking areas in the following areas contact Detective Ames:

  • The Apartments at Sunset,
  • 700-1200 blocks of Fairview Avenue,
  • East and West 9th Street,
  • 700-1300 blocks of Motter Avenue,
  • 0-1500 blocks of West 7th Street.

Frederick Police Investigating Double Shooting That Left One Dead and One Seriously Injured 

 

FREDERICK, MD – The Frederick Police Department – Criminal Investigations Division is investigating a double shooting that occurred last night in the 1000 block of Columbine Drive, which left one person dead and one seriously wounded.

On Thursday, June 27 at approximately 9:39 pm, the Frederick Police Department received a call reporting a possible firearm's discharge in the area of the 1000 block of Columbine Drive in Frederick. Officers responded to the scene and found a deceased male identified as Gregory Allen Bair Knight, age 30 of Frederick, MD, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and a 27-year-old female in the passenger seat also suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The first responding officers immediately provided medical assistance to the female victim until EMS arrived. The female victim was transported by Maryland State Police helicopter to a local trauma center, where she is listed in stable but serious condition.

At this time, we are not releasing the name of the female victim. Several pieces of evidence were recovered from the scene and will be processed.
