Frederick Police Investigating Shots Fired Incident
FREDERICK, MD – On Sunday, June 23, at approximately 9:23 am the Frederick Police Department responded to the 200 block of Appleton Place for reports of a firearm discharge. Upon arrival, Officers learned that an unknown made entry into an occupied apartment. The residents of the apartment asked the male to leave and escorted him out of the residence. Once the male was out of the apartment, the residents closed the door and the suspect began kicking and banging on the door trying to gain entry. Shortly thereafter the residents heard two to three gunshots. After the shots were fired the unknown male left the area. It was discovered that the gunshot rounds struck the entry door of the apartment causing damage.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6’0 in his late teens to early twenties wearing a black or dark colored shirt, dark blue pants, and a baseball hat.
