Miss Phylicia Rashad Barnes was arrested on May 29th for her involvement in the home invasion, armed robbery that occurred on April 9th, 2012 in the 1300 block of North East Street.
On 04-10-2012 at approximately 00:30 hours police responded to the 1300 block of North East Street for a home invasion, armed robbery. Upon there arrival they made contact with an adult male who stated that while in his residence two subjects forced there way into his apartment and beat him over the head with a shotgun. A sum of U.S currency was taken during the armed robbery.
The victim stated that on April 09, 2012 he spent the majority of the evening with a black female he knows as “Fee-Fee or FayFay”. He stated that she left, and a short time later there was a knock at his door. Upon answering the door a black male with a shotgun and the female from earlier forced there way into his apartment. The black male struck the victim twice on the head with a shotgun causing severe lacerations to the victims head area. A struggled ensued and during this struggle the female grabbed the shotgun and struck the victim several times in the head and face area.The victim suffered facial fractures, lacerations on the back of his head and chin that needed stitches, bruising on both eyes and his nose, and two broken nasal bones. The victim continues to recuperate from his injuries after being released from Shock trauma in Baltimore.
During the course of this investigation Det. Lege was able to identify the female in this incident as Phylicia Rashad Barnes. Det. Lege applied for an arrest warrant on April 10th, 2012 for a number of criminal charges including Armed Robbery. Miss Barnes turned herself in to the Frederick City Police Department on 05-28-2012. Miss Barnes was transported to central booking for processing.
The police department is asking for help from the community in the identification of the second suspect involved in this incident. He is described as a black male, with dreads, gray mask and hood.
