Officers Make Arrest of Felon with Loaded Handgun
FREDERICK, MD – On April 11, 2019, at approximately 10:12 pm, while conducting a patrol check in the area of 100 block South Bentz Street, Officer Johnston and Officer Hamilton were approached by Mr. Dearil Green III, age 42, of Frederick, MD. Mr. Green told the officers that they could search him. Due to the very unusual request, the officers began to engage Mr. Green in conversation. During the interaction with Mr. Green, the officers could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from his person. The officers placed Mr. Green under arrest; he resisted and assaulted Officer Johnson. Officers were able to get Mr. Green in handcuffs and while conducting a search incident to arrest, a loaded .380 semi-automatic handgun was located in his pants pocket.
Mr. Green was charged with numerous offenses and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
