Frederick Police Serve Search and Seizure Warrant
FREDERICK, MD - On March 8, 2019, at approximately 6:00 am, members of the Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit and Special Response Team served a search and seizure warrant in the 200 block of Bishops Glen Drive in Frederick. After the residence was secured, officers conducted a search of the house.
During the search of the house a .22 caliber handgun and 9mm handgun were recovered. Both of the handguns had their serial numbers scratched out so that they could not be identified. Officers also located scales, packaging materials and a quantity of marijuana that indicated that it was for distribution.
One of the residents was arrested and identified as Nicholas Adrian Benjamin (DOB 11/03/2000). Due to previous criminal convictions, Benjamin is prohibited from possessing any handguns.
Benjamin was taken to the Frederick County Detention Center and processed. He was charged with numerous offenses including Possession w/ the Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Illegal Possession of Ammunition, 2 counts of Illegal Possession of a Regulated Firearm, 2 counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Minor, and 2 counts of Altering a Firearm ID Number.
