Frederick City Police Officers responded to 1051 W Patrick St for a reported assault report.
When officers arrived, they were met by one of the victims in this incident who told Police that David Renaud had spit in his face and struck him with his vehicle.
Through further investigation, OFC Hamilton was able to determine that the assault was a domestic assault and the reporting party was a bystander who confronted Renaud. Witnesses on scene of the initial assault stated that they head Renaud tell his wife that he was going to "kill her."
Officers of the Frederick Police Department and the Frederick County Sheriff's Office responded to the 6200 blk of Ranier Drive and attempted to make contact with both the suspect and victim, who were not home. OFC Hamilton was able to make contact with the female victim who told officers that the Renaud struck her in the face and then stated that he was going to kill her.
Officers were able to locate the Renaud and place him under arrest without incident. Renaud was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. An Extreme Risk Protective Order (ERPO) was completed by officers and 5 guns were seized from Renaud's' residence. Renaud was charged with the following;
1st Degree Assault
2nd Degree Assault (X2)
Reckless endangerment
