Directed Patrol Officer Makes Downtown Drug Arrest
FREDERICK, MD – On January 24, 2019, at approximately 10:33 am, OFC R. Lawson was conducting a routine walking patrol in the area of 50 Carroll Creek Way when he detected the odor of burning marijuana. OFC R. Lawson observed a vehicle in the area to be running with a smoky haze inside. OFC R. Lawson approached the vehicle and observed the suspect, Andrew Eye, smoking a blunt inside the vehicle. Mr. Eye was subsequently placed under arrest.
During a search of the vehicle, OFC R. Lawson located two vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana in sufficient quantity to indicate the intent to distribute, clonazepam, and several items of drug paraphernalia.
Mr. Eye was transported to central booking and charged with several offenses to included: possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana, and possession of clonazepam.
