Frederick Police Dept. Conducts Death Investigation
FREDERICK, MD – At about 0746 hours on January 20, 2019, a citizen walking along Carroll Creek in the area of the South East Street overpass observed a person floating in the water. The citizen called 9-1-1. Personnel from the Frederick County Division of Fire & Rescue Services (DFRS) arrived, pulled the victim from the water, and began CPR. Officers of the Frederick Police Department also arrived, preserved the scene, and began an investigation. DFRS transported the victim to Frederick Memorial Hospital, where he was declared deceased by medical personnel.
The victim’s body was sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for a post-mortem exam. Once the victim’s identity is confirmed, and detectives notify next-of-kin, his name will be released to the media.
