The male that was found deceased yesterday was identified as Joseph William Tibbs 4/5/67. Mr. Tibbs was believed to be homeless at the time of his death. His family has been notified and the investigation continues into the cause and manner in which he died.

Frederick Police Investigate Death
FREDERICK, MD – On December 26, 2018, at approximately 9:01 a.m. Frederick County Emergency Medical Services responded to the 200 block of West South Street for an unresponsive male laying on the sidewalk. EMS Personnel checked the individual and found that the individual was deceased.
Officers from the Frederick Police Department responded to the scene and were able to identify the male. His information is not being released at this time due to notification of next of kin. The individual was transported to the State Of Maryland Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
At this time the Frederick Police Department does not believe foul play or CDS contributed to his death.
