OVER 652 POUNDS OF MEDICATIONS COLLECTED AT DRUG DISPOSAL EVENT
FREDERICK, MD – On Saturday, October 27, the Frederick Police Department along with the Frederick County Health Department, Drug Enforcement Agency, and Whitesell Pharmacy hosted a drug disposal event on National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day in the Wegman’s parking lot on Worman’s Mill Road.
Residents dropped off a total of 652 pounds of unused and unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications at the drug disposal event. All the medications will be destroyed by the Drug Enforcement Agency. These numbers represent an increase from the take-back event in April 2018, which collected 635 pounds of medications. The next drug disposal event is scheduled for April 2019.
