On January 24th, the Frederick Police Department conducted Tobacco Compliance Checks of commercial establishments selling Tobacco products within the City of Frederick.
Frederick Police Officers, with the help of underage volunteers, was able to check 24 businesses for compliance with state laws prohibiting the sale of tobacco products to minors. Out of the 24 stores checks, 3 businesses sold tobacco products to a minor.

- GetGo- 1391 W. 7th St
- Giant Eagle – 1305 W. 7th St
- 7-Eleven – 204 Amber Dr.
- Giant Eagle – 1275 W. Patrick St
- Hop & Vine – 14 N. Market St
- Snack Shack – 406 N. Market St
- BP/A-1 Mart- 300 S. Jefferson St
- 7-Eleven – 313 S. Jefferson St
- MTM Convenience Store- 342 S. Jefferson St
- Jefferson St Exxon – 400 S. Jefferson St
- Sunrise Liquors – 407 S. Jefferson St
- Festival Liquors – 446 Prospect Blvd.
- Weis Market – 448 Prospect Blvd
- A-1 Mart – 649 Himes Ave
The following establishments DID NOT comply with the law and offenders will be issued citations:
- Jefferson Street Service Station – 242 S. Jefferson St.
- Safeway – 927 W. 7th St.
- BP Tollhouse – 503 W. 7th St.
This operation was funded by a grant from the SYNAR Fund that is administered by the Frederick County Health Department, Substance Abuse Prevention Services. Merchant training is available to help in complying with the law and employee training.
