The Frederick Police Street Crime Unit (SCU) make an arrest for a stolen vehicle.
Frederick, MD.-On January 9th, 2018, at approximately 1900 hours, Det. K. Jones with the FPD Street Crimes Unit (SCU) responded to the 2000 Block of Riverwalk Pl for a suspicious male in a vehicle. Det. Jones located a vehicle parked in the area displaying a stolen license plate. Det. Jones also discovered the vehicle was stolen, on 01/08/18, from the Home Depot in Frederick, MD. The suspicious male was no longer sitting in the vehicle as witnesses had described. Other members of the SCU, and patrol officers, responded in an attempt to locate the male.
Det. Jones was able to locate Walter Thomas Burgess whom witnesses had earlier seen in the stolen vehicle. Burgess was arrested, and additional evidence linking him to the crime was located on his person. Burgess was taken into custody and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center’s Central Booking Unit for processing.
