FPD investigates strong armed robbery
FREDERICK, MD – On 11/06/17 at approx. 2030hrs Patrol officers responded to the unit block of Waverly Drive for a report of an assault. This call was initially dispatched as an assault but very quickly determined to be a robbery. Upon arrival patrol officers contacted the victim and began searching the area for the suspects.
Investigators were called to the scene and determined that the victim was initially approached and assaulted by one Black Male. As the victim tried to defend himself, the 4 other males began assaulting him. The victim was treated on scene by EMS and released. The suspects are described as follows;

- Had backpacks
- Teenage
- One wearing a Black & Red jacket
2- Hispanic Males
- All in black
- Had Backpacks
- Teenage
The victim had only personal items taken and no weapon was displayed during this incident. Detectives are looking into the possibility that this is related to other similar incidents in the area. However, there is no evidence linking this incident to any others at this time.
The Frederick Police Department is committed to the safety of its citizens. Therefore, we will be working with businesses in the area to increase safety and security, as well as increasing patrols in this area.
