FPD makes arrests for Discharging of a Firearm

FREDERICK, MD – On 9/12/2017 at approximately 1333 hours Officers from the Frederick Police Department were dispatched to the 500 BLK of Cascade Way for a report of a discharge that had just occurred. Upon arriving to the area, Patrol Officers located evidence that a discharge had occurred. No one was struck by the gunfire, and no one is injured.

Officers were quickly able to get a description of the suspects and a suspect vehicle that fled the scene. Officers approaching the area were able to locate the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop on it. All three occupants of the vehicle were taken back to FPD HQ for questioning. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Dyshez Williams (see below for details). The owner of the vehicle was also in the vehicle and released after questioning without charges. The third individual was a juvenile and his information is not being released at this time. The juvenile was charged appropriately (see below) and taken to a juvenile detention facility.

As the investigation unfolded Detectives and other Officers obtained information that one of the suspects that also had a firearm ran into a house in the 500 BLK of Boysenberry Lane. Officers and Detectives made contact with several individuals at that house and all of them were escorted to the LEC for questioning. Based on information collected on scene and witness statements, Detectives applied for and received Search and Seizure Warrants for two residences in the 500 BLK of Boysenberry Lane. There was evidence of the discharge recovered during the service of the warrants.

The Frederick Police Department would like to thank the multitude of community members that came forward as witnesses to this event. However, FPD is asking that anyone with any further information is encouraged to call the Frederick Police Department at 301-600-2102. Callers wishing to remain anonymous can contact the department by phone 301-600-TIPS (8477), text at 240-674-TIPS (8477), or email fpdcrimetip@frederickmdpolice.org.
