Frederick Police arrest man involved in weekend stabbing....
On 04/07/2012, at approximately 1245 hours, members of the Frederick Police Department Patrol Division responded to the 1100 block of Orchard Terrace for a reported stabbing. Officers located an 18 year old male suffering from a stab wound. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was involved in an altercation a short distance away and ran to Orchard Terrace for aid after he was stabbed.
The victim was flown to Baltimore Shock Trauma for treatment, and was reported to be in serious but stable condition. Members of the Criminal Investigation Division also responded and Det. Steve Petruzzello was assigned as the lead investigator. Follow up investigation revealed the suspect to be identified as, Marquis Fitts (B/M, 10-4-1992), and a warrant was issued. Investigation also led detectives to determine this was an isolated event, and the suspect and victim were found to be acquaintances.
On 4/10/12, at approximately 1949 hours, Fitts was located by detectives in the 1200 block of Stillmeadow Pl in Frederick. During a search incident to Fitts’ arrest, a quantity of suspected PCP was located in Fitts’ pocket. Fitts was transported to FCADC where he was charged with possession of PCP. In reference to the altercation, Fitts was charged with:
• Assault 1st degree
• Assault 2nd degree
• Reckless endangerment
