Mayor Randy McClement has ordered The City of Frederick Flag to be flown at half-staff for a 24 hour period starting sunrise, April 11 and ending sunrise April 12.

Lowering The City of Frederick Flag

Frederick, MD – Mayor Randy McClement has ordered The City of Frederick Flag to be flown at half-staff for a 24 hour period starting sunrise, April 11 and ending sunrise April 12. This is in memory of former Alderman David “Kip” Koontz of Frederick, Maryland, who died on April 8, 2012. Mr. Koontz served the City of Frederick as Alderman from 2006 through 2009.

Mayor Randy McClement stated, “We were all saddened to hear of Kip’s passing. He was a great advocate of the City and a strong supporter of local arts and theater. He will be missed.”
